ABOUT US

Saints in Training is a youth ministry open to both middle and high school students. We have a team of enthusiastic adults whose three main goals are to help kids grow in their relationship and understanding of Jesus through weekly bible studies, develop long-lasting friendships with teens who are like-minded in their moral beliefs, and be a positive service outreach in our Ruskin community.

We also strive to prepare our youth to resist the secular world’s temptations, false gods, and untruths so that when they leave the safe haven of their homes for college and adult life, they will be ready to overcome obstacles and spiritual challenges to attain true happiness through Christ. Our weekly meetings are dedicated to either bible study, current event discussions, or fun activities that give the kids a chance to grow in their faith and have fellowship with their peers.

Come out and become a part of our weekly gatherings!

Every Sunday following 5PM Mass from 6-7:30 in FFC Room 10/11.

WHERE WE HAVE BEEN & THE FUTURE

The teens have done a lot around the Parish as far as volunteering at various events and are in the process of creating a Youth Mass at 5PM on Sunday. Aside from things around the Parish, the Youth Group has participated in functions such as the 5K 4 Queena, job shadowing days in Tampa, and provided various events at the Parish open to the community including Car Wash & Cookout fundraisers, Father’s Day Pancake Breakfast, Breakfast with Santa and for the 2nd year in a row we will participate in the St. Vincent De Paul annual Walk for the Poor.

The teens also get involved with yearly outside events and activities including the Ave Maria University youth retreat, Mary Help of Christians Haunted Hayride, Rock the Universe and various job shadowing opportunities.

In the near future, the teens are hoping to get more involved with the community by volunteering at assisted living facilities and providing more events during the Christmas season. The teens have made tremendous strides in growing in their faith by practicing the teachings of Jesus Christ and studying the gospels. These kids are our future, and the future looks promising when seeing the hard work that comes from the hands of these teenagers.
